Cecilia cen Sulla
"If the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, does it taste just as bitter as the fruit which spawned it?"
Character Biography
Name: Cecilia cen Sulla Nickname(s): Cecil, Lily, Dove (Hated) Age: 24 Race: Pureblood Garlean Gender: Female Height: 6.5ft/197cm Birthplace: Regio Urbanissima, Garlemald Residence: Homeless Mother: Domitia lux Sulla Father: Laurentius quo Sulla Rank: Civis Fabrilis Legion Affiliation: IIIrd Profession(s): Smith, Maintenance Worker Combat job(s): N/A - Non Combatant Languages: Garlean, Eorzean: Illiterate Typical Alignment: Lawful Neutral (LN)
Proud and passionate to a fault, she is more than willing to steel herself in a world filled with conflict and uncertainties and temper herself against strong willed individuals.
"My will is unbreakable, my knee unbending. I shall bear the weight and the burden of those that have fallen and carry them into a brighter tomorrow."
Appearance
Skin and Build
Cecilia displays a rather pale complexion, befitting a person who spends a majority of their time indoors. Build-wise, she bares a rather toned figure from the countless hours hammering away at Garlean steel, helping to mould them into ideal components for engineers to hone their crafts with. Her hands are littered with visual wear and tear, with signs of callus build-up and small scars from nicks and tears.
Hair
Her hair is a rather light shade of sandy brown, which is rather rough and wild in appearance, only really held in check by a delicate black silken ribbon. Her hair is decidedly fairly long, reaching down to the midsection of her back.
Eyes
Cecilia's eyes are a rather striking turquoise green, where she'd show a degree of tiredness in the form of dark bags under her lids, perhaps due to a recent or even extended period without restful sleep.
Third Eye
A distinctive trait of a Pureblood Garlean, the woman bares a small, round keratin protrusion embedded within the centre of her forehead. Visually, the organ appears much like a lustrous pearl in terms of colour and shape.
Hook Index
Easy hooks are generally applicable for anyone to know. There's no real restrictions on these ones beyond your own judgement.
Medium hooks are slightly more specific, that are also not widely known to the general public. If you want to use one of these, I merely ask it makes sense for your character to know said information.
Hard hooks aren't off-limits, but they require your character to have some degree of connection to Imperial Legions as an ally or enemy or be a citizen of Garlemald.
Roleplaying Hooks
Easy Hooks
Readying Reconstruction
She has shown a staggering eagerness and willingness to assist with the reconstructive efforts of Garlemald after recent events. Those seeking to help support the cause may find she is more than happy to lend her skills.
Shameless Scavenger
Cecilia, since the fall of Garlemald, can sometimes be seen haunting the ruins of the city at night. Why she digs through the rubble is anyone's guess, especially when she wasn't particularly known for her combat ability. Surely something there must be worth the risk?
Still Standing Strong
Cecilia displays a strong, burning sense of pride and stubbornness that endures despite her homeland being in ruins and her people both shattered and scattered. She doesn't seem particularly concerned with hiding her gunblade unless deemed absolutely necessary. For better or for worse, she's fairly open and honest in that regard.
Learning Literacy
Due to her upbringing, Cecilia has had little to no exposure towards Eorzean literature. Even her manner of speech is quite patchy despite her best efforts. She is actively looking for assistance in these matters, but due to trust issues is genuinely quite hesitant on who she trusts in this regard.
Phasmophobia
She displays a startlingly strong fear and distrust towards Magic and those who regularly practice it. To the point where she actively avoids contact in areas she percieves to be highly dense with Mages. Perhaps she could be seen going completely out of her way to avoid certain people clad in spellcasters regalia.*
*Please note that due to Garleans innate and deep fear of magic, factors such as the proximity of the spell to her person, how obvious the spell is and how destructive the spell is - will incite an increasingly strong reaction. Violence is entirely within the realm of possibility.
Only the best
Cecil appears to be in search of what she describes as 'Eorzea's Finest'. What exactly it is she is searching for relies heavily on interpretation. However in her eyes, everything presented thus far has been little more than a disappointment. Maybe someone, somewhere can figure out what she is after.
"Only the very best this land has to offer. Nothing else will suffice. I will find it. One way or another."
Match made in magitek
Cecilia shows a degree of enthusiasm for card games, to the point where she carries her own deck of cards on her person. She's known to be especially fond of the game Triple Triad.
Roleplaying Hooks
Medium Hooks
Eorzean Intervention
Due to her being stationed within Garlemald and with close ties with the IIIrd legion, she was one of many who were tempered by the primal Anima. She found deconstructing buildings for metal in order to build and repair the monstrosity that was the Tower of Babil.
Perhaps those who were there at the time may recall the woman being treated in Tertium. Or was even one of the adventurers who located her and brought her in for treatment in the first place.*
*A character must have been in active assistance towards Garlemald citizenry during the events of the Final Days, likely through the Ilsabard Contingent. Please ask to use this part if you wish to claim it.
Back to buisness
It should be noted the womans ideals for repaying debts towards the Ilsabard Contingent has afforded some measure of leeway and co-operation from her. If anything, she seems to be surprisingly keen to expand trade deals and business oppoprtunities through the protections that the Contingent offers. The skills she often offers is that of her specialized craft. That of supplying Garlean Steel and the tools and weapons forged from the valuable and rare materials. Which she seems all to happy to display the worth and value of to prospective individuals.
"The gears turns in our favour, our time will come."
Mechanical Heart
Despite not being an Architectus herself, she has shown a strong and insatiable curiosity towards mechanical marvels. People may seek out her services when it comes to machine maintenance. While she isn't a specialized jen, she displays a surprising amount of knowledge of mechanical devices - and this holds especially true with her passion: Clockwork. A passion most would deem a 'pointless hobby' and waste of talent.
Practiced Posturing
She often displays behavioural traits one would expect more from a military personnel rather than a simple smith, whether she has a reason for this odd quirk isn't certain. Though it can certainly catch people off guard if they don't know what to expect. She comes across as incredibly stiff, even arrogant in how her speech is more akin to a report than proper conversation due to her formal, blunt, and unintentionally intense manner of speech comparable to a malfunctioning Magitek unit. She has been known to try punching well above her weight when pushed too far, s if trying to enforce leverage and control above her rank and experience.
"I don't believe you understand. Not once in my lifetime do I ever expect to be liked. Hate me all you like, but question not my efficiency."
Castrum Crawler
Cecilia can occasionally be seen headed towards the directions of varying Castrums scattered across Eorzea. Stopping her in her tracks has been considered fairly dificult, mostly due to the use of an all terrain motorbike being used as the method of transport to between Garlemald and the castrums. Perhaps people have seen the woman driving through less travelled areas in order to get to her destinations.
Defying the Darkness
She has developed an especially strong fear and revulsion towards those who call themselves "Dark Knights" and practice the dark arts. Those who openly use such magics around her person, or are blatant in their practices will find a fairly strong reaction from the woman.

Hard Hooks
Magitek Materials
Cecilia was known to have enrolled into the Magitek Academy at the age of sixteen. Though expecations were high, the woman ultimately failed her education process on her final year. Instead, she was tasked with Providing key supplies and high quality armaments and weapons towards the IInd and IVth Legion while remaining settled in Regio Urbanissima.
IIIrd Time's the Charm
Cecilia has records showing she has been contracted by the IIIrd Legion as a supplier of repair materials and spare parts. Most of which were used to maintain weapons and machines of war. It's uncertain if she was aware of the coup d'etat against the Ist or was an active supporter. Though there was supposedly an uptick in weapons supplies since her contract began. Those with relevant connections may find she recieved additional funding from House Brutus, and generally held favourable views of Vergilia van Corculum.
Dance with Danger
With a military father in an already heavily militaristic nation, it is expected that Cecilia had been taught martial training from a young age. This training only intensified the further into Magitek Academy she progressed through, with expectations on her fathers end to pick a military based profession. However, it was noted the woman displayed a nervous streak so severe that it crippled combat training.
"When push came to shove, it seems she would only stumble and fall." - Laurentius pyr Sulla |
Suspected Scrutiny
Due to her mothers connections within the Magitek Academy, it was suspected that she had pulled strings to enroll Cecilia into the academy, rather than strictly through her own merit. The cloud of suspected nepotism has followed her ever since enrollment. Perhaps the suspicions were well founded? Ultimately it seemed that mounting pressure from both ends of her parents, compiled with the scrutiny from peers caused the woman to break down in her final year in a rather spectacular fashion.
"When handed the keys to success, she was driven over the edge." - Domitia lux Sulla |
Clockwork Creations and the Pitiful Periah
Cecilia was known by some Garleans who worked with her mother in the IVth Legion, to eagerly recreate smaller, more crude copies of clockwork creations brought to the Southern front. All of which were too small, and more akin to trinkets to be of any use to the war efforts. Her role at large, was her mothers attempt at keeping conscripts lower in command in line under a watchful gaze that could be controlled with unquestioning loyalty, in direct response to the van's plea for reinforcements towards the XIV'th Legion. However she was prone to fleeing at the slightest sign of magic and displayed difficulty adaping to a Legion primarily outfitted with races outside her own, alongside high tensions towards her presence from the abundance of conscripts. Thus her intergration into the IVth was largely unsuccessful. Those in the Legion viewed her presence as an affront to van Gabranth's desires of a strict meritocracy.
"Because who better to observe the rabble, than flesh of mine own blood who provides supplies? Don't be a fool when you need assistance most." - Domitia lux Sulla |
OOC Information
Cecilia Sulla - Crystal - Mateus
I'm a multi-paragraph/novella-style poster. With an average post size of 2-3 paragraphs. I am second language English, so I may take slightly longer than expected to post in order to spell and grammar check myself.
I am 25+ years old, and will request that characters and players be at least 21 years of age in order to engage.
ERP isn't everything in roleplay; I find it dull and unengaging when it's blatantly all that a person cares for.
My character is lore-abiding, and I prefer interacting with characters that are generally so as well. Light lore-bending is fine if it makes sense and doesn't contradict the canon lore of the game, as I value consistency.
Please keep in mind this character is exactly as you would imagine a Pureblood civis to be. If you have done story/side quests in Garlemald in and after 6.0 you will know what you're getting into. She is not designed to be best friends with everyone, especially not right away.
Cecilia generally isn't found at or around city states. If roleplay is sought chances are some measure of OOC communication will be required to establish an initial scene. I'm absolutely not averse to brainstorming potential connections.
Types of roleplay
I'm fairly experienced when it comes to roleplay, with a few years of experience across multiple MMOs and genres across the board. This is especially true in the MMO World of Warcraft and surprisingly Wildstar as well (RIP).
I will openly state that I adore safe for work, wholesome/slice of life roleplay and generally silly and light hearted interactions.
The types of roleplay I'm decent at include: Adventure/Combat Roleplay - D20/100/Freemote Character Driven Interactions Character Rivalries Criminal/Crime/Mystery Dark and Mature roleplay - If Non Sexual Long-Term Engagements Light Comedy Puzzle/Riddle/Problem Solving Story Based Roleplay Wholesome and Slice of life

Fair warning to those who have not reached or finished Endwalker.
This character can spoil some events that occur during the expansion.
If you have not finished Endwalker, let me know and I'll try my best to avoid details.
Laurentius quo Sulla
Seasoned Centurion
Laurentius was known throughout his entire service to have been rather patriotic individual whom rarely displayed even a moments hesitation in even the most gruesome of orders.
He was recognised for his service to the IInd Legions cause. Being ruthless in his efficiency within his methods to quell uprisings from the Corvosi populace.
Skilled in the use of a gunblade, he has a history and love of duelling that is equal in passion to that of his love of duty, which had seen him slowly raise through the ranks towards the station of quo, a position he held in high regard.
He was however, noted for a fondness of conscripting native, strong willed and able bodied individuals into his personal infantry, so long as they displayed admirable qualities he deemed worth respecting. Those he did happen to take in, always seemed to have their names committed to memory.
It is highly rumoured that the man had perished in a bid to protect his remaining Decurions and infantry from Terminus Beasts during their attempt at returning back to the capital city during the Final Days, after being decimated in Locus Amoenus.

Domitia lux Sulla
Architectus ordinum
Domitia spent the vast majority of her lifetime working within the Magitek Academy within Garlemald. Most whom were taken under her wing would note she was a rather firm teacher, being quick to correct errors and mistakes. Eager to prove her worth as an engineer and rise through the ranks, she willingly assisted the IVth Legion in their attempted conquest of Bozja.
Her most well known and passionate work was her contribution towards the Gabriel project, which devoured much of her time. Unfortunately, the alphas had a tendency to overheat and malfuction— much to her dismay.
The crown jewel of phase-two airborne magitek research, Gabriel was introduced not long after the helldiver. Achieving what they could not with their previous creation, Garlean engineers endowed Gabriel with the ability to switch between a configuration ideal for flight and a humanoid configuration adapted for melee combat. — Encyclopaedia Eorzea Volume III, p. 264
She also appears to have worked on varying other projects, with her records showing work on the Dáinsleif prototype project. People may recognise this feline like automata from the Bozjan Southern Front.
This quadrupedal magitek armor was deployed by the IVth Legion while it was still in the prototype stage. Displaying the imperial tendency to appropriate form conquered cultures, the Dáinsleif's unique design is said to have been inspired by a nine-tailed beast that the Garlean army faced during its invasion of Doma. — Encyclopaedia Eorzea Volume III, p. 264
